Biography

I am an award-winning writer with multiple achievements from Dogster magazine, the American Kennel Club, the Dog Writers Association of America and Cat Writers Association of America, as well as non-pet related organizations for copywriting. My degree is in magazine journalism, and I have been writing and editing for the pet/vet industries for more than 30 years. 

My husband and I live in Southern California (both California natives) and have been proud pet parents of quite the menagerie, which currently includes bull terriers Dexter and Maybelene, and Scottish terrier Blackjack; all three are rescues. Maybelene sounds like a dainty lady, but she loves to roll around in dirt. So much so we like to say Dexter is red and white, and Maybelene is dirt and white. We also have a Senegal parrot named Astro and a huge sulcata tortoise named Sherman. We look forward to getting chickens again very soon to round out our furry/scaled/feathered family.
