Small Animal Food and Treats
Small animals require high-quality, species specific food that is supplemented with treats, fresh vegetables and fruits to make a complete and balanced diet. Rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas also require hay as a large part of their diet to help promote proper digestion, while hamsters, gerbils, mice and rats enjoy hay in their diet—but do not require it.
Treats come in a variety of options—such as treat sticks, yogurt drops and toppers. Find a variety of treats that are packed with vitamin C—especially helpful for guinea pigs. Small animals enjoy treats in their diet, but treats should not exceed 10% of their total daily diet.
