Leopard geckos are desert animals, so leopard gecko substrates made of coconut fiber or sand mats are a good choice. You can also get them bedding. They may like bedding made from ground walnut shells or sand, especially if your gecko is going to lay eggs. The leopard gecko tank should be at least 20-gallons, but the bigger the tank, the more habitat you can create.
Your leopard gecko will need a shallow bowl for a water source. Since a leopard gecko’s food source is live prey like crickets and mealworms, you don’t necessarily need an additional dish for that.
Leopard gecko hides are great because they give your little leo some privacy and space where they feel cozy and secure. They come in cool designs that can look like desert rocks or logs. You can also get faux rocks and sticks for them to lounge on. You can beautify the leopard gecko habitat with live plants like aloe or a snake plant. Petco has an array of leopard gecko décor.
