Flea Bombs and Foggers
Flea bombs and foggers are small, 2-to 3-ounce aerosol cans that contain pesticides. When released, they fill the area, typically a single room, with a flea-killing aerosol. Foggers may be effective in eliminating fleas on surfaces and in penetrating areas to kill pests lurking in crevices. They are part of a whole-home flea-control strategy that starts with putting your pet on a monthly preventive plan.
For best results, we strongly recommend consulting your veterinarian. They’ll help you choose the best flea treatment for your pet, which might include oral pills, topical drops, shampoos or collars. Your veterinarian can also advise you about treating your home. If you decide to move forward with a flea bomb, you’ll need to prepare your home. Read the product label for details about the square footage it can target as well as the recommended amount of time everyone, including your pet, will need to be away from home. Food and cooking surfaces will need to be covered to avoid potential contamination, and additional cleaning/precautions may be required.
If your attempts to rid your home of fleas are unsuccessful, a consultation with a licensed and accredited pest control business may be necessary.
