Aquacultured Black Cap Damsel
The aquacultured Black Cap Damsel is a great option for the beginner hobbyist. This beautiful fish can handle subpar water parameters and will adapt to aquarium settings very easily. Damsels are considered to be an aggressive fish; however, the Black Cap is considered to be mild compared to others. A small group can be added to an aquarium as long as it is large enough. Provide an environment with plenty of hiding places and swim throughs. It is very difficult to differentiate between males and females, but like most damsels the male will become very aggressive towards the female when they are ready to mate. Provide a varied diet of marine frozen foods and pellets for continued health.
