Aquacultured Purple Tang
The Aquacultured Purple Tang has a vibrant purple coloration, which stands out more thanks to their bold yellow caudal tail. Like other tangs, these can be aggressive towards other fish that look similar, however, fish from the genus Zebrasoma are more likely to tolerate other tangs from this genus if their aquarium is large enough and they are all added to the aquarium at the same time. They can grow up to 10" in size, so full grown adults will need around 150 gallons, but you can get away with smaller aquariums when they are juveniles. The cultured Purple Tangs take little to no time acclimating to pellets and frozen foods. In the wild, adults are often found in small groups in coral rich areas up to about 20 meters deep in the Western Indian Ocean from the Red Sea to the Persian Gulf.
