Aqueon Modular LED aquarium lighting systems are available in 20", 24", 30", 36", 48" and are designed for full-coverage lighting on standard sized aquariums from 10-gallons up through 90-gallons. Right out of the box these lighting systems are as bright as a traditional fluorescent fixture, thanks to the included Day White LED lamp. Should you choose later that you would like to grow plants or desire brighter or warmer lighting for your aquatic masterpiece, these fixtures provide two additional expansion slots for additional Day White LED lamps or Colormax LED lamps. This allows your lighting system to grow right along with you in your fish-keeping journey, without the costly purchase of a new system when you are ready to take the next step. Energy-saving LED lamps use up to 70% less energy than comparable T8 fluorescent lamps and do not contain mercury, which is harmful to the environment and require special disposal. This will save you money not only in energy consumption on your electric bill, but with this LED technology you no longer need to worry about spectral shift (a concern with fluorescent lighting) allowing your lamps to remain vibrant without loosing brightness! This LED technology immediately creates a serene aquascape just by putting it over your aquarium. This point-source lighting provides a "shimmer" effect that draws your eye to the water even before you add fish! This shimmer effect reflects the current from the top of the water and provides the natural reflective effect that you would see in nature across the gravel and decor throughout your aquarium. Mounting legs are pre-installed and easily adjust to fit your aquarium. The three-position power switch allows for Day, Night and a special Lunar Moon Glow lighting that allows you to view any nocturnal fish you may have in a natural setting. The LED lamp connections are moisture-resistant and connect effortlessly into place.
