Arc Eye Hawkfish
The Arc Eye Hawk has a small adult size of 7" and could be added to a smaller aquarium. These little guys can be seen perching on top of rocks throughout a day, protecting its territory. They will quickly establish a territory and keep other fish at bay, which may be a problem if there are many bottom dwelling fish. The Arc Eye Hawk is a hardy fish that can adapt well to aquarium settings, which makes them ideal for beginner aquarists. They are a possible predator of small ornamental crustaceans. Most hawkfish will readily adapt to a variety of foods, which should include a thawed carnivorous mix. They are a light pink/orange color with a thick white horizontal stripe by the caudal tail. This hawk has a marking around their eyes that looks similar to an "arc." The Arc Eye has nice markings around their face and throat that will get more colorful as they grow. They are found in the Indo Pacific inhabiting lagoons and seaward reefs up to 30 meters deep.
