Bluehead Wrasse
The Bluehead Wrasse has exquisite coloration, hardiness and high activity levels that make them very desirable in the aquarium hobby. They are known predators of a myriad of unwanted pests like bristle worms and mantis shrimp. As with all the other fish in the genus, they are capable jumpers at all stages of their life, so a covered aquarium is necessary. They will grow to be about 7" in size and need ample swimming room. The Bluehead Wrasse goes through a drastic color morph as it ages and colorations are based on their sex. Juveniles are mostly yellow with black markings. Male adults have a deep blue colored head followed by two black bands then the rest of their body is a teal color. Female adults predominately teal in color with two black bands.
