Brown Blotch Babylonia Snail
The Babylonia Brown Blotch Snail are valued for their attractive appearance, as well as, their ability to help control detritus and algae in the aquarium. Provide a sandy substrate in the aquarium to mimic their natural habitat. These snails often burrow into the sand when they are not active, so do not panic if you do not always see them. Keep a look out because you may see their siphon sitting out of the substrate. When they burrow into the sand it has the added benefit of turning and aerating the substrate. These snails are omnivorous scavengers that will feed on detritus, leftover food, and algae in the aquarium. However, it's a good idea to supplement their diet with sinking marine pellets, small pieces of frozen foods, and Nori. Like all snails they are sensitive to high nitrate levels and copper-based medications.
