The Bumble Bee Shrimp is the perfect candidate for a nano tank due to its small size. These little guys are like Harlequin Shrimp and feed on sea star's tube feet, but they do not need them to survive as the Harlequin does. The shrimp's size will not exceed more than 1 inch in length, so be sure not to house with tank mates that would make a snack out of this shrimp. The Bumble Bee Shrimp will scavenge for food, but their diet should be supplemented with meaty foods. This shrimp can be kept singly or in a pair, but be careful choosing tank mates because fish and some invertebrates may try to make a meal out of this tiny shrimp.

  • Cannot tolerate copper medications and high nitrates

  • For continued health, supplement with meaty frozen foods
  • Prefers higher salinity
  • Add to an aquarium with anemones and/or corals
