Bumble Bee Snail
The Bumble Bee Snail is a little guy with a big appetite for detritus. Add a group of them to the aquarium and watch as they glide across eating fish waste, detritus and uneaten foods. Their small size allows them to get into all the small crevices between rockwork, which makes your aquarium even cleaner. If there is not enough food available within the aquarium, the Bumble Bee Snail may begin to snack on other snails. Do not be too concerned if you do not see this snail all the time because they like to burrow into the sand in search of food. When they burrow into the sand it has the added benefit of turning and aerating the substrate. The Bumble Bee Snail prefers an established aquarium with live rock and a deep sand bed. Like all snails they are sensitive to high nitrate levels and copper-based medications.
