Canarytop Wrasse
The Canarytop Wrasse is a hardy, active and useful fish. This wrasse prefers to be added to well established aquariums with a sandy substrate and lots of rockwork. The Canarytop Wrasse likes to submerge itself in the sand when frightened or to sleep. Ensure any rockwork is secure because this act could disturb the rocks. When feeding them, give a varied small meaty diet. Feeding them multiple times a day is recommended as they are very active and keeping them full will help keep them away from desirable inverts. They are known predators of a myriad of unwanted pests like fireworms and pyramidellid snails. The Canarytop Wrasse prefers to be the only one of its species in the aquarium. They have an adult size of about 5". This wrasse is an ok choice for reef aquariums because they will not bother corals/anemones but if they get hungry enough, they may go after shrimps and snails. They are yellow on the top half and white/purple on the bottom half of its body.
