Aquacultured Darwin Clownfish
Aquacultured Darwin Clowns is a variant of the Common Ocellaris Clown. They will very likely choose a host anemone fairly quickly (just avoid condylactis). In one of the neatest displays of symbiotic behavior that you can see in a home aquarium, the clownfish provides food and a cleaning service for the anemone, which in turn protects the clownfish. This clown is reef safe, will eat processed foods and can be added in small groups. Clownfish are known to change their sex to increase their chance of reproduction and genetic diversity in the wild. If the female dies, a male will change their sex to take her place. The Darwin Clowns are black with the iconic three bands. They are found naturally in this coloration around Darwin, North Australia which is how they gor their name. The Darwin Clown will grow to be about 4" in size.
