Dusky Margined Wrasse
The Dusky Margined Wrasse is a hardy, active and useful fish. This wrasse prefers to be added to well established aquariums with a sandy substrate and lots of rockwork. The Dusky Margined Wrasse likes to submerge itself in the sand when frightened or to sleep so be sure any rockwork is secure because this act could disturb the rocks. When feeding, give a varied small meaty diet multiple times a day as they are very active and keeping them full will help keep them away from desirable inverts. They are known predators of a myriad of unwanted pests like fire worms and pyramidellid snails. The Dusky Margined Wrasse prefers to be the only one of its species in the aquarium. They have an adult size of about 6". This wrasse is a great choice for reef aquariums because they will not bother corals/anemones but if they get hungry enough, they may go after shrimps and snails. Juveniles and females are duller in colors compared to males.
