Emperor Angelfish (Juvenile)
Angelfish come in a large array of colors, patterns and sizes that make them very appealing to all levels of hobbyists. The Imperator Angels are very hardy and will do quite well in the home aquarium as long as they have sufficient space and a balanced diet. They generally feed on a wide variety of algae, sponges, soft corals and other organisms, which is why they are not recommended for reef aquariums. Full grown adults of this angel will need around 250 gallons; however, you can get away with smaller aquariums when they are juveniles. Like most large angelfish the Imperator will go through a complete transformation from juvenile to adult. As a juvenile, they are mostly black with circular white and blue stripes. However, as an adult their coloration will turn to bright yellow stripes, blue mask on its face and a vibrant yellow tail.
