Falco Hawkfish
The Falco Hawk is a fish with a colorful personality that is also entertaining to watch. These little guys can be seen perching on top of rocks throughout a day, protecting its territory. If another fish comes too close, they will be chased away. The Falco is a hardy fish that can adapt well to aquarium settings, which makes them ideal for beginner aquarists. Most hawkfish will readily adapt to aquarium foods, which should include a thawed carnivorous mix. The fish should quickly learn to accept food from you, at which point it will be easy to convert it to more processed offerings. Keep this hawk well fed to reduce the need to snack on shrimp and small fish. This hawk has an adult size of only 3", which makes them ideal for smaller aquariums. The Falco is predominately white with small dark red and orange spots that make a banding pattern. There are small tufts on the tips of the dorsal rays which are called cirri. They are found in the Indo-Pacific inhabiting seaward reefs.
