Aquacultured Ocellaris Clownfish
Aquacultured Ocellaris Clownfish, sometimes known as the False Percula Clownfish, are the most recognizable of all marine aquarium fish. If you're looking for a clownfish, the Ocellaris is certainly one of the best fish for the job. They will very likely choose a host anemone fairly quickly (just avoid condylactis). In one of the neatest displays of symbiotic behavior that you can see in a home aquarium, the clownfish provides food and cleaning service for the anemone, which in turn protects the clownfish. This clown is reef safe, will eat processed foods and can be added in small groups. Clownfish are known to change their sex to increase their chance of reproduction and genetic diversity in the wild. If the female dies, a male will change their sex to take her place. They are a vibrant orange coloration with three thick white bands that are outlined in black. The False Percula Clown will grow to be about 3" in size.
