The Female Elephant Ear Betta, also known as the Dumbo Betta, is renowned for its impressively large pectoral fins that resemble elephant ears. These oversized fins move gracefully as the fish swims, making them one of the most visually striking Betta varieties. Typically paired with a Halfmoon or Delta tail, Elephant Ear Bettas come in a wide range of vibrant colors and patterns including solid, marbled, koi, and metallic shades. However, females tend to be duller in color compared to males. Though delicate-looking, they are hardy and intelligent, thriving with proper care in a well-maintained aquarium. A varied diet of high-quality Betta pellets, frozen or live foods such as Bloodworms, Brine shrimp, and Daphnia is ideal for their continued health. A gentle filter is recommended and be sure to prevent strong currents for this Betta. With proper care, the Female Elephant Ear Betta can live 2-4 years, serving as a stunning and mesmerizing aquatic pet.
