Fire-eyed Loach
Fire-eyed Loach are known for their playful behavior and being a very active species. They are often seen exploring the bottom of the aquarium, digging through substrate, and investigating various hiding spots. This loach has an elongated body, slender tail, distinct pattern and barbels. The barbels assist in finding food within the substrate. They typically feed on small invertebrates, insect larvae, crustaceans, and plant matter in the wild. In aquariums, loaches should be fed a varied diet consisting of sinking pellets, frozen or live foods like bloodworms, brine shrimp, and occasionally vegetable based foods. The Fire Eyed Loach is considered a "scale-less fish," which means they can be more susceptible to diseases like Ich. Slower acclimation and pristine water conditions will help reduce the chance of diseases.
