Fluval Plant and Shrimp Stratum has many features and possible benefits that may make it a smart choice for planted aquariums.
Strata are special geologic layers made up of sedimentary rock or soil. They can be made of sand, silt and even coal, but one of the most common—and fertile—types are lava beds. Fluval Plant and Shrimp Stratum is collected from the foothills of Mount Aso Volcano in Japan, bringing that mineral-rich volcanic soil directly to your shrimp aquarium.
The porous structure of Fluval Plant and Shrimp Substrate helps to encourage strong plant growth, allowing roots to penetrate quickly and obtain nutrients from the aquarium plant fertilizers and supplements you’re using. Beneficial bacteria may more easily colonize the substrate, and it is designed to help naturally promote neutral to mildly acidic pH.
