Freckle Faced Hawkfish
The Freckle Face Hawk has a fun appearance that creates a lot of excitement. These little guys can be seen perching on top of rocks throughout a day, protecting its territory. If another fish comes too close, they will be chased away. They will quickly establish a territory and keep other fish at bay, which may be a problem if there are many bottom dwelling fish. The Freckle Face Hawk is a hardy fish that can adapt well to aquarium settings, which makes them ideal for beginner aquarists. They are a possible predator of small ornamental crustaceans. Most Hawkfish will readily adapt to a variety of foods, which should include a thawed carnivorous mix. They have an adult size of 9 inches and will need an aquarium at least 70 gallons. They are a pink, brown or green color with red spots throughout its face. They are found in the Indo-Pacific inhabiting clear lagoons and seaward reefs up to 35 meters deep.
