Gabapentin for Dogs and Cats—100mg, 60 Capsules   

  

Gabapentin is a generic medication approved for use in dogs and cats when prescribed by your pet’s veterinarian. Your vet may prescribe gabapentin for cats or dogs in one of two strengths and in the form of capsules or tablets.  

  

Gabapentin for dogs and cats can sometimes help relieve pain—especially chronic pain. Additionally, prescribing veterinarians sometimes advise you use gabapentin for pets who are experiencing seizures or other issues.   

  

Consult your veterinarian to determine whether it is recommended to use gabapentin for anxiety or any other conditions your pet may be experiencing. And whether you’re using gabapentin for pain or seizures, it is important to always use it as directed.  

  

You will administer the capsules by mouth, and they are designed to take effect within a few hours of consumption. The most common gabapentin side effects are drowsiness, loss of balance, swelling of the limbs, vomiting, diarrhea or sedation. If vomiting or sedation occurs when giving gabapentin to cats or dogs, consult your veterinarian immediately.
