Jansen Saddle Wrasse - Medium
The Jansen Saddle Wrasse has exquisite coloration, hardiness and high activity levels that make them very desirable in the aquarium hobby. When young, they are relatively reef safe because they choose planktonic foods and parasites over invertebrates, but as they age, they are more likely to consume motile inverts of all types, including snails, crabs, sea stars and even urchins. If possible, add this wrasse to the aquarium last since they can be territorial. When feeding, give a varied small meaty diet multiple times a day as they are very active and keeping them full will help keep them away from desirable inverts. They are known predators of a myriad of unwanted pests like bristle worms and mantis shrimp. They are capable jumpers at all stages of their life, so a covered aquarium is necessary. They will grow to be about 8 inches in size and need ample swimming room. The adult Jansen Saddle Wrasse has a light blue body and dark vertical stripes that are bordered with yellow.
