Lactulose Oral Solution 

 

Lactulose solution is a prescription-only feline medication to help with your pet’s constipation. It’s made of non-absorbable synthetic sugar that pulls water into your pet’s intestine. This process aids in softening their stool and can help alleviate constipation when used correctly. It can be administered orally or rectally—make sure you carefully follow the directions issued by your veterinarian. 

 

Lactulose for constipation may take up to 48 hours before producing results. Side effects may include diarrhea, excess gas and stomach cramping. Lactulose for cats comes in a 16-ounce bottle and contains 10g/15ml.
