Lantern Basslet
The Lantern Basslet will light up your aquarium. These are very hardy additions to just about any aquarium. Lantern Basslets stay very small with a max size of just over 4 inches. These diminutive fish are planktivores in the wild, so they are used to eating foods suspended in the water column. This means they are both easy to feed and highly unlikely to bother sessile invertebrates. However, they might make a meal out of small ornamental shrimps and crabs. They are pretty peaceful, and so multiple Basslets can be added at one time which mimics their wild distribution. Feed these fish small meaty foods a couple times a day, since they have a high metabolism. They will be eagerly taking more processed foods fairly quickly. The Lantern Basslet has a mottled design of orange, yellow, black and brown markings. They are found within the Western Atlantic inhabiting rocky and weedy areas up to 80 meters deep.
