Mangrove Seed Pod
Mangrove Seed Pods are an excellent addition to a refugium that help remove excess nutrients, such as nitrates and phosphates, and dissolved organic content from the system and provide beneficial oxygen, which helps to stabilize the pH. They are truly unique in their adaptability, because they can live in saltwater systems due to their root cells being so small that they do not allow the absorption of saltwater molecules--so cool! Mangrove Seed Pods, fat at the root base and skinny at the leaf-growing top, quickly anchor into substrate or live rock. Because the Mangrove shoot will absorb the nutrients, which are stored in the leaves and stem, if the leaves fall off into the aquarium, then they should be cleaned up immediately.
