Aquacultured Maroon Clownfish
Aquacultured Maroon Clowns is one of the largest out of the clownfish species. They are an excellent addition to just about any aquarium as they are very hardy and accustomed to captivity. This clown is reef safe and will eat processed foods. Please note that Maroon Clowns are sensitive to higher levels of copper, so this should be taken into account if used in your aquarium. However, the Maroons are known for being more aggressive and territorial than the Ocellaris Clown. Unless you have a mated pair only one should be added to your aquarium. Clownfish are known to change their sex to increase their chance of reproduction and genetic diversity in the wild. If the female dies, a male will change their sex to take her place. The Maroon Clown has a bright red to maroon coloration and three thin white bands. As they grow the bands will get thicker and become gold in color. The Maroon Clown will grow to be about 6" in size.
