Nassarius Snail
The Nassarius Snail is a little guy with a big appetite for detritus. Add a group of them to the aquarium and watch as they glide across eating fish waste, detritus, and uneaten foods. Do not be too concerned if you do not see this snail all the time because they like to burrow into the sand in search of food. When they burrow into the sand it has the added benefit of turning and aerating your substrate. Keep a lookout because you may see their siphon sitting out of the substrate. The Nassarius Snail prefers an established aquarium with live rock and a deep sand bed. Like all snails, they are sensitive to high nitrate levels and copper-based medications.
