Nexgard for Dogs

 

Fleas and ticks can be a nuisance for you and your pup. Other than the irritation and scratching they cause, fleas and ticks can put your dog at risk for tapeworms, Lyme disease and a host of other illnesses. To help rid your dog of these external parasites and prevent infestations, Nexgard chewables for dogs can help. Just one of these soft, beef-flavored chewables can help provide a whole month’s protection against adult fleas, the American Dog tick, Lone Star tick and the Brown Dog tick. Plus, it’s the only FDA-approved flea and tick solution to prevent Lyme disease by killing Black-Legged ticks. Afoxolaner—the active ingredient in Nexgard chewable tablets—is designed to affect the nervous systems of fleas and ticks to induce hyperexcitation and death.  

 

Blue Nexgard flea and tick chewables are for dogs that weigh between 10.1 to 24 lbs. But they are available in other varieties for dogs of all sizes over 4 lbs. and older than eight weeks. It is available in 3- or 6-month supplies, and you can only order online with authorization from your veterinarian. Possible side effects of Nexgard chewable tablets for dogs can include vomiting, dry or flaky skin, diarrhea, a lack of energy or a lack of appetite. You should consult your veterinarian if you notice any of these side effects.
