Orchid Dottyback
The cultured Fridmani Orchid Dottyback has a lot of attitudes for such a little fish. Due to their aggression, we recommend that this dottyback be housed singly and with other fish that similar temperaments. They prefer an environment that has a great deal of live rock to hide in, however, the live rock can bring out their aggression because they become territorial of their hidden dwelling. Providing a well varied diet of meaty foods will enhance the health of the dottyback, while also deterring them from unduly harassing other fish or consuming desirable invertebrates. They aren't known to snack on pesky bristleworms and small mantis shrimp, which is very beneficial. This dottyback has an adult size of only 3", which makes them ideal for smaller aquariums. The Orchid Dottyback is slender and lovely solid purple coloration. They are found in the Western Indian Ocean inhabiting crevices of rocks and beneath overhangs within reefs up to 60 meters deep.
