Growing up to 4 inches, the Redtail Shark thrives in tanks of at least 50 gallons, providing ample space to swim. While generally peaceful with most fish, it can become territorial with other bottom-dwelling or similarly-shaped species, so it's best to house it with peaceful tankmates that occupy different areas. As an omnivore, the Redtail Shark enjoys a balanced diet of high-quality pellets or flakes, along with occasional live or frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp. It also benefits from fresh vegetables and algae-based foods to maintain its health and vibrant colors. Ideal for intermediate to advanced aquarists, the Redtail Shark brings both personality and flair to your freshwater setup.
