Sallylightfoot Crab
The Sally Lightfoot Crab is an excellent addition to aquariums experiencing hair algae problems. These little guys are very hardy and have a unique body shape with yellow to orange stripes. An interesting quirk is that they often shed their legs and regenerate them soon after. They are easy to maintain and only take about an hour to fully acclimate to a new aquarium. The Sally Lightfoot Crab can be housed in reef aquariums with corals, but be aware they may disturb the corals by causing them to retract or close up temporarily, not harming. They do prefer aquariums with strong water flow to mimic their natural environment, with rocks and sand to hide/scavenge in. This crab is a great scavenger, but if there are not enough scraps to eat, they may begin to go after small fish. Be sure to supplement with algae and prepared meaty foods.
