Scopas Tang
Tangs are commonly referred to as surgeon fish due to having a sharp spine that looks like a "scalpel" at the base of their caudal (tail) fin that is used for protection, use caution when handling. Like other tangs, these can be aggressive towards other fish that look similar. However, fish from the genus Zebrasoma are more likely to tolerate other tangs from this genus if their aquarium is large enough and they are all added to the aquarium at the same time. They should be peaceful towards most other tank mates. The Scopas Tang can grow to be over a foot in size, so they will need substantial swimming room. Full grown adults of this tang will need around 180 gallons; however, you can get away with smaller aquariums when they are juveniles. The Scopas Tang gradually gets darker towards its caudal tail. Their bodies are littered with fine, bright spots and their fins are a solid yellowish-brown.
