Society Finch
These birds are a domesticated species as they do not exist in the wild. Society Finches will sing and chirp once acclimated to their surroundings. They can be housed in groups or mixed with other finches.
Society Finches aren’t found in the wild and are one of the few species of domesticated finches.
Society Finches are exactly what their name implies -- social! These outgoing companions are best kept in pairs or small groups and can easily be housed with zebra finches. They prefer not to be handled, and make great companions for apartment dwellers. Society finches have a quiet, gentle nature and are easy to care for. Although available mainly in shades of brown and white, it is difficult to find society finches that look exactly alike. Since finches enjoy flying, they should have a flight cage that is longer than it is tall. A habitat that is at least 24" x 18" is recommended. Provide a variety of toys and swings in addition to a place for them to bathe. The sweet nature and quiet disposition of society finches make them the perfect companion!
