Two Bar Rabbitfish
Rabbitfish are a fan favorite because they can be housed with just about anything due to their venomous dorsal spines. They are a peaceful fish except when housed with other types of rabbitfish. An ideal environment has plenty of space to swim and live rock with algae they can graze on. The Two Bar Rabbitfish can be considered reef safe with caution because they have been known to nip at some corals, especially when hungry or the corals are in declining condition. To avoid the nipping, be sure that they are well fed with a mix of meaty foods and vegetable-based foods. Use caution when working in the aquarium as the Two Bar's venomous dorsal spines cause a painful sting. The Two Bar will grow to be a large size of 11" so adults will need ample swimming space of around 150 gallons. They have a silver body with a yellow section that runs towards its dorsal through the caudal fin. There is blue spots and markings that are littered through its head and back.
