White Tip Trigger
The White Tip Trigger is a stunning fish that will stand out in your aquarium! They have a brownish colored body and white tipped caudal fin (t)ail, which is how they got their common name. Not to be housed with smaller and/or timid fish that could be harassed or eaten. Aggression can be amplified in smaller tanks. Since they like to pick on smaller sessile invertebrates and like to tip other things like corals while exploring, this trigger is not considered reef safe. Feed a varied diet of meaty foods, such as chopped seafood, multiple times a day. Since they have teeth, the White Tip needs to be fed foods with a shell to keep them from overgrowing. Caution: all triggers have sharp teeth and may bite when they feel threatened, use caution when working in the aquarium. A good time to work in aquariums is after feeding. White Tip Triggers will grow to be about 8 1/2" in size and will need ample swimming space. Full grown adults of this trigger will need around 180 gallons.
